Metal Coil Slitting Line is a production line designed to cut metal coils to the desired width into narrow strips, which are then rewound into narrower coils.
• How does the slitting line work?
The Slitting Line work consists of serval vitual working parts, they are Uncoiling, Slitting, Tensioning and Recoiling
• Uncoiling:
Uncoiling is the first process of slitting line, which begins with an uncoiler that holds the master coil.
The raw material will be set on the material platform and loaded into the uncoiler by the loading coil car. During loading, insert the single-end mandrel into the inner diameter of the main ring. The uncoiler unwinds the coil and feeds it into the slitting line.
• Slitting:
Slitting is the core process of slitting line. The slitter head consist of rotary knives, which are configured to match the required strip widths. The knives will partially enter the coil material, resulting in cracks of fracture on both sides of the metal material. Contingent on the thickness of material, rubber rings are used to obtain a better edge and prevent any burrs that could affect finished product quality and downstram operation.
• Tensioning:
The tension device in the slitting line process is for maintain consistent strip alignment and avoid defects, the slitted strips pass through the tensioning system. The system ensures proper tension and alignment for the rewinding process.
• Recoiling:
Recoiling is the last part of the slitting line process. The slitted strips are rewound into smaller, more managable coils by recoiler. The unloading car will unload coils and then ready for package, storage or further processing.
The finished products of slitting line, slitted strips will be widely used in automotive, construction, electronics, and other industries.
